UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS TIMBERLAND CENTER

The University of Arkansas Timberland Center includes a welcoming and inclusive landscape setting that integrates the new facility into the University’s existing art and design district.

Consisting of two spaces, the landscape provides immersive and flexible outdoor areas for learning, gathering, leisure, and collaboration. The Yard is a large flexible outdoor space designed for work and engagement, one that is flanked by a stepped seating area that accommodates programmed events and casual gatherings. Anthony’s Way is a more intimate outdoor space, providing flexible seating beneath a grove of native Arkansas tree species, the same trees whose wood is utilized in the Center’s timber architecture.
