PENNOVATION CENTER
Pennovation Center is a 23-acre innovation incubator center dedicated to research and innovation of robotics for the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn).
The landscape design is centered around an existing factory building that has been re-purposed to incorporate innovation labs and offices. A plaza with distinctive paving pattern and custom wood benches defines the main building entry. A grove of multi-stem plane trees that sit in stone fines host a social seating area for students and visitors to gather. An existing contaminated lawn areas was remediated into wildflower meadows and native planting. The design accounts for future development while creating meaningful places on the campus in the short-term. Lou worked as Designer for Pennovation Center while at Land Collective. †
