CAMANA BAY FIVE STAR HOTEL

The sensory experience of the coastal hotel is guided by the visual, physical, and ecological details of the area, offering guests distinct engagement with the sea.

As part of the landscape design for a five-star Hotel Resort in Grand Cayman, OLA is seeking to reinforce multi-modal connections from an existing pedestrian-oriented town center to a proposed beach-front site. The project features a lushly planted street that leads pedestrians up and over an existing underpass to an entirely accessible site overlooking the sea.

From the elevated podium, a sloping plane is then sliced and terraced to create multiple levels. In this way, users can step down through the natural space, enjoying an enhanced visual and physical experience that creates connections to the water and other programmatic elements. Other key design features include a hotel and residential pool deck, a beach bar, a children’s play garden, a diving sports facility, beach cabanas, a hammock garden, and a sunken outdoor performance area.
